Paph. primulinum is a relative newcomer, having been described in 1973. The albinistic form of this species is unusual in that it was described and introduced into cultivation before the normally colored form. Native in nature to northern Sumatra where it grows on limestone hills, this particular plant has spent its entire existance in Candor, NY, the result of a cross of a selected first generation seed grown plant, 'Candor Luminesse' HCC/AOS and what is probably the finest form of the species we have seen, 'Goldnugget', originally a collected plant..
