It's been our experience that Paph Nisqually could easily be the poster child for 'hybrid vigor', as it is one of the most undemanding and neglected plants in our collection, yet it continues to thrive and flower year after year. The flowers are also strangely mesmerizing, perhaps because of their unusual shape, or because of the myriad of spots and stripes competing for one's attention. Paph. sukhakulii, one of its parents, could be said to dominate the flower, and yet, the overall shape clearly confirms Paph. appletonianum as the other parent. Which parent dominates? You decide!
