Decades ago, huge, round, spotted complex Paphs were the rage, and once again they are back into greater favor in some circles. But the primary and novelty spotted Paphs have increasingly edged into the spotlight since the discovery of Paph. sukhakulii. Paph. henryanum, a species that is delightful to grow and flower in itself, has also produced colorful progeny, and it is expected that more will be commercially available soon, because of their ease of growing, colorful flowers, modest plant size, and, when paired with sequentially flowering parents, multiple flowers can be produced on the inflorescence (note the second bud on the hybrid pictured above). Other spotted novelty hybrids with Paph. henryanum to look for are Paph. Pebblepath (Transvaal x henryanum), Wossner Tigerhenry (henryanum x tigrinum), Candor Good Henry (godefroyae x henryanum), Master Henry (henryanum x mastersianum), Graham Robertson (henryanum x sukhakulii) as well as Paph. henryanum crossed with vinicolor Maudiae types.
